Hi, I'm Katie.

I'm the one on the far left. With the mic. I like to have fun.

I was born and raised in Indianapolis. I'm still here because I love this city. However, I will agree that the winters can be about as fun as a fast from enriched white bread.

At the end of my freshman year in college, I met a guy named Joe. One week later, I told my friend Bridget that I wanted to marry someone just like him.

Two years later, we got hitched. I still can't believe I am his and he is mine.

One year later, we found out a little person was growing inside of me.

Two days after she was born, we finally named her Madeline Jane.

She came with a big personality.

I have absolutely no idea where that personality came from.

She changed our lives for the best. Fo realz.

I used to work in non-profit public relations. Now I stay home with Madeline and write my student loan checks while playing dress-up and cooking mac and cheese.

Even on the hardest, most isolating days of staying home, I still love being with her.

I can be charming at times. Some people might call it acting stupid but I prefer to call it charming.

But one of my favorite things about Joe is that I'm not alone with this trait.

We're a charming couple and I can only pray Madeline turns out the same.

I ruin about every meal I make but I still love to cook.

I had a horrific incident with a opossum.

I once tried to resolve a serious issue in our marriage with a blog post and reader poll.

It was an epic fail.

I am blessed.

Not by the things I have or even the amazing people in my life but because I am loved by a wonderful and forgiving God and there's nothing I can do to change that.
